The Tipi 500 Ultimate combines traditional design with modern materials to deliver exceptional durability, comfort, and versatility. With a 5-meter (16 ft 5 in) diameter and 19.6 m² (210 ft²) of floor space, it’s perfect for 4 glampers on queen beds or up to 8 campers on sleeping pads.
Dynamic Conical Shape
The tipi’s iconic cone shape, inspired by Native American designs, provides unmatched wind, rain, and snow resistance. The single center pole delivers incredible tensile strength, enabling the tipi to withstand gale-force winds and driving snow.
Cinchable Walls for Ventilation
Unzip the floor, release the canvas from the stakes, and tighten the guy lines to create a floating design for maximum airflow—ideal for hot summer days.
Storm-Resistant Door
The triangle-shaped door zips vertically and integrates seamlessly with the groundsheet. A built-in mesh door ensures ventilation while keeping bugs out. A storm flap protects the zipper from ice and snow buildup.
Peak Cap
The removable rain cap allows for chimney venting from a wood-burning stove or extra ventilation. Guy lines keep the cap secure in high winds.
Waterproof Groundsheet
The included bathtub-style PVC groundsheet is durable, water and vapor-proof, and rises 4 inches to protect against standing water. A size 10 zipper securely attaches it to the canvas and allows for easy removal or cleaning.
Single Center Pole Design
The heavy-duty nickel-plated steel pole (30mm diameter) features spring-loaded sections for quick assembly.
Guy Lines and Tensioners
In moderate conditions, the tipi can stand without guy lines. For strong winds or extended use, attach the durable 3mm guy lines with plastic tensioners for added stability.
Steel Stakes and Pegs
Three sets of stakes secure the groundsheet, canvas, and guy lines. The pegs are designed for easy use and provide secure tension even in soft ground.
Classic Canvas Material
Constructed from 320 gr/m² (9.5 oz/yd²) 100% cotton canvas, the tipi offers excellent breathability, natural waterproofing, and UV resistance. Double-stitched seams and reinforced stress points ensure durability.
Stove Compatibility
Compatible with tent stoves, including the Frontier Portable Stove (Tipi Sleeve sold separately). Modular stove jacks can be installed for optimal flu pipe placement. Open fire pits are not recommended.
Eco-Friendly Construction
The 100% cotton canvas is sustainable, biodegradable, and bears the official Seal of Cotton®. Its natural, earthy beige finish creates a warm, inviting atmosphere.
