Flex Tents

Advanced Technology

Our Flex tents are engineered with cutting-edge zero-memory synthetic waterproof materials. At the core of this innovative fabric is a durable 4-way polyamide knit, designed to stretch without creating “memory.” This means the material returns to its original form after stress is removed, preventing distortion even after frequent use. A polyurethane (PU) coating is applied on both sides of the laminate, delivering superior waterproofing along with UV protection and flame retardancy.

Flexible Clamp System

Every Flex Q2 tent comes with a comprehensive clamp kit and all the required hardware. The clamps secure the tent edges by gripping a permanently welded elastic cord along the perimeter. These clamps can be repositioned anywhere along the edge, enabling effortless setup, limitless anchor points, and customization. Each tent also includes a complete rope and stake kit, making it easy to pitch in its classic raised configuration. Whether you’re setting up near a building, on a patio, over a pool, or even on the beach, Flex tents adapt to virtually any location with creative configurations.

Poles: Versatile and Customizable

Flex tents operate like large modular canopies, with poles that can be adjusted to create various shapes, heights, and entryways to perfectly complement your space and specific needs.

Each Flex Q2 tent package includes two types of pole adaptors: one for CanvasCamp’s lightweight accessory metal poles and another for wooden poles that you can source locally. The set also contains pole bases to secure poles on solid surfaces or protect wooden decks.

Our modular aluminum pole kits are lightweight, highly portable, and available in aluminum or green finishes. However, many users prefer wooden or bamboo poles for their natural aesthetic and cost-effectiveness. Locally sourced wooden poles, such as those from farm supply stores, offer a more rustic look and can be custom-cut to your specifications at affordable prices.

Using Wooden or Bamboo Poles:

  • Protect tent fabric by capping all pole ends with our dome-shaped pole tops.
  • Secure the pole tops using adaptors that screw into the wooden poles (wood screws not included).
  • For perimeter poles, drill a 1.25 cm (1/2 inch) hole to insert the clamp bolt properly.

Choosing the Right Stakes

Stakes are essential for stabilizing your Flex tent. They come in two lengths—80 cm (31.5 inches) and 110 cm (43 inches)—to suit different terrains and conditions.

  • 80 cm (31.5 inches): Best for hard ground or smaller tents (up to 8.5 x 10 m / 28 x 33 ft).
  • 110 cm (43 inches): Ideal for soft ground (grass, dirt, sand), larger tents, or windy conditions. Rain-softened ground also requires longer stakes for maximum stability.

Setup Tip: Drive stakes into the ground, leaving no more than 5 inches visible above the surface for secure tensioning. A sledgehammer is recommended but not included.

Tie-Down Options: Straps vs. Ropes

Straps:
Flat nylon straps are threaded through cam buckles for tensioning. Pull the loose end to tighten, and press the cam buckle lever to release.

  • Pros: Cost-effective and lightweight.
  • Cons: Quick tension release makes fine adjustments challenging. Straps positioned close to stakes may pull them out during tensioning, so having a helper to stabilize the stake is recommended.

Ropes:
Braided nylon ropes are paired with carabiners equipped with cams for precision tensioning.

  • Pros: Easy to adjust and position. Ropes pull tension downward, stabilizing poles without risking stake displacement, making them ideal for solo setup.
  • Cons: Higher cost compared to straps.
