Sibley 500 ProTech Bell Tent
The Sibley 500 ProTech is our top-of-the-line bell tent, designed for maximum comfort and versatility. It is the most popular size in our ProTech series, with a 5-meter (16ft 5in) diameter and 19.6 m² (210 ft²) of floor space, making it ideal for up to 4 glampers on queen beds or as many as 8 campers on sleeping pads.
360° Mesh Wall Protection
Traditional camp pests, like bugs and critters, are a growing concern, especially with the increasing prevalence of vector-borne illnesses like Zika, West Nile, and the plague. Our ProTech mesh walls are designed to provide 360° ProTechtion, ensuring maximum ventilation while keeping pests at bay. The mesh walls zip onto the groundsheet and canopy, and the extra sticky Velcro ensures a secure seal. The walls can be rolled up for ventilation or completely removed when not in use, and are neatly stowed with the built-in hook and loop system. Double walls help provide extra protection against insects.
Pro-Grade Groundsheet & Zipper System
The ProTech groundsheet is made of thick, thermally welded, rip-stop PVC (650 gr/m² or 19.17 oz/yd²), which is completely waterproof and vapor-impenetrable. The ‘bathtub-style’ floor rises 4 inches to keep you dry, even in standing water. The heavy-duty zipper system allows you to easily attach or detach the sidewalls. You can also remove the groundsheet for easy cleaning, storage, or to enjoy the natural ground beneath you. The tailgate-style system of hooks and loops ensures that the bathtub wall near the door can be dropped and pegged flat to prevent tripping.
Integrated Mesh Door
The Sibley 500 ProTech comes with a sewn-in no-see-um mesh door in addition to the traditional canvas door, offering an extra layer of protection. Loops on either side of the door allow you to neatly tie back the mesh when not in use.
Pro Guy Lines & Tensioners
Setting up your ProTech is a breeze with the pre-attached Pro guy lines, threaded through tensioners for easy adjustment. Made from UV-resistant nylon and 5mm thick, these guy lines are designed for durability. The plastic tensioners help prevent wear, prolonging the life of your tent.
Pro Stakes & Pegs
For high winds or hard ground, the Pro stakes are made of high-quality, nickel-plated steel, just like the poles. The 24cm (9.5 inches) angled stakes are specially designed to hold fast in rocky or frozen ground, and the T-shaped hook prevents the guy lines from slipping off. The Pro groundsheet pegs are 50% thicker than standard pegs, keeping the floor securely in place.
Pro Spring-Loaded Poles
The Pro series poles are reinforced compared to the standard models, with 23mm (.91 inch) door poles and a 32mm (1.25 inches) center pole. Internal spring-loaded wires guide the sections together for quick and easy assembly. The center pole features a welded lanyard ring, perfect for hanging a chandelier.
Pro Canvas (320 gr/m²)
Made from 100% cotton canvas, the Pro Canvas (320 gr/m² or 9.44 oz/yd²) offers the best balance of breathability, waterproofing, and durability. The natural waterproofing of cotton prevents rain from penetrating while still allowing moisture to escape, keeping internal humidity low. Double-stitched seams, flat-felled construction, and reinforced stress points ensure the tent will stand up to years of use.
Mesh Windows and Vents
The Sibley 500 comes with 4 no-see-um mesh windows and 4 peak vents, all designed to maintain airflow while keeping bugs out. The windows feature zip-up canvas covers that can be adjusted for privacy and ventilation.
Stove Compatibility
The Sibley 500 ProTech is compatible with wood-burning stoves, but we recommend using modular stove jacks (sold separately) for custom placement. This ensures optimal stove efficiency and safety. Please ensure that you follow proper fire safety procedures and always check local regulations.
